Real Estate Firms publish reports on both the US and Global Real Estate market

  • CBRE is a commercial real estate services and investment firm and produces research and reports on global, US and local markets. Registration required.
  • Cushman and Wakefield provides reports on commercial and industrial real estate for cities and states globally, with major transactions, submarket comparisons, employment trends, and investment and development trends specific to 18 major US markets.
  • Jones Lang LaSalle has research on global markets as well as the Los Angeles market.
  • Newman Knight-Frank provides quarterly global and US research reports. This is an excellent resource for finding new markets. Their Market Trends reports for the US  cover real estate market conditions in North America and provide up-to-date information on vacancy and absorption rates, rent comparisons, sales prices, new construction, economic background analysis and more. The Metro Trends quarterly reports for the latest data analysis of local markets. These two-to-six page reports include analytical commentary and detailed tables displaying data by sub-market. Metro Trends cover every major market in North America for the industrial and office space market and are available approximately three weeks after the end of each quarter. 
  • Savills Studley provides commercial real estate market reports about major transactions, sub-market comparisons, employment trends, and investment & development trends for 18 major US markets.

Coverage of Trends from US Government Publications (Free Resources)

US Government Publications can provide data and analysis of the trends related to the real estate market. One source for residential real estate is the U.S. Housing Market Conditions Summary. Available freely from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, this quarterly publication dates back to 1994 online and provides commentary in summary format of national and regional market trends and predictions.
