  • Type google into the box and click Search
  • The report Search Engines in the US will be relevant

Insider Intelligence (formerly eMarketer)

Example: I'm looking for reports on Google.

  • Type Google and click search
  • Click the box for "Content Type" at the top of the screen and select the box for Report
  • Reports like "Search Ad Spending Forecast and Trends H2 2023 Retail Media Flourishes as Marketers Await Disruption From GenAI" will be helpful

Mintel

Example: I need a report relevant to Google.

  • Type Google into the box and click search
  • Use the pulldown menu for Content Types and select "Reports"
  • The report "Digital Advertising - US - 2023" will be helpful
  • Search for Youtube will retrieve "Streaming Video – US – 2023"

Passport (industry profiles & economic data)

Example: I want information on Pizza Hut global market share.

  • Type pizza hut into the box
  • Click "View All Results"
  • Go to Brand shares and click "View Full Data Set"

Example: I want a report on wearable electronics (Alphabet owns Fitbit)

  • Type wearable us and select "Wearable Electronics in the US"
  • Download the report as a PDF

Example: I need a report on consumer lifestyles/behaviors/attitudes in India.

  • Type reports like  "Consumer Lifestyles," "Consumer Behaviour in India," "Consumer Overview in India," "Consumer Types in India," "Consumer Values in India" and "Megatrends in India" will be helpful reports.

Example: I want historical and forecasted GDP data and inflation rates for the United States.

  • At the top of the screen, click the link for Economies and select Economy, Finance and Trade
  • Go the section for " Search Statistics" and use the pull-down menu to select "GDP"
  • Click Go
  • Scroll down to GDP and click the arrow
  • Select all of the types of GDP data that you need
  • Click Next
  • Go to Geographies and select USA
  • Click Search
  • Click the link Economies and Consumers Annual Data on the left-hand column
  • Use the pull-down menu to select the years that you need (forecasted data is available to 2030
  • Click Apply

S&P NetAdvantage (industry reports)

Example: I want an industry report relevant to Alphabet.

  • Click Markets at the top of the screen
  • Select "Communications Services" under the heading for Industries
  • Click 'Industry Surveys" on the left-hand column
  • Select the PDF for the report "Interactive Media & Services"

Example: I want an industry overview that is relevant to Nike.

  • Type Nike or the ticker symbol (NKE) and wait to for the field to autocomplete to Nike Inc (NYSE:NKE)
  • At the left-hand column at the top of the screen, under the heading "My Links," click the link for "Industry Surveys"
  • Click the PDF for the report on "Textiles, Apparel & Luxury Goods"

Statista

Example: I need statistics for McKinsey Consulting both at the company and industry level.

  • Type mckinsey consulting into the box and click search

Example: I need statistical reports on Alphabet.

  • Type Alphabet and click search
  • On the left-hand side, go to "More Filters" and click the box for "Reports" and click Apply
