Located on the second floor of Payson Library, the Genesis Lab is home to a number of high-tech and low-tech making resources. Our offerings include 3D printing, virtual reality, 360 cameras, a Cricut Maker, a heat press, and gaming PCs. We offer access to modeling and design software such as Unity, Blender, and select Autodesk CAD applications. We also provide support for Adobe Creative Cloud applications, which are hosted on computers in the Academic Center for Excellence.
Our space is a collaborative community designed for individuals across campus to work, learn, create, and make together. We offer opportunities for engagement through class visits, course project integrations, research support, personal projects, and public events.
We currently host the Pepperdine Esports teams for their practices and competitions. You can learn more about the Esports program by visiting their webpage.
Stop by and visit us in the lab (Payson 338). We are also happy to virtually answer questions, provide support, or brainstorm ideas. Do not hesitate to contact us by emailing genesis.lab@pepperdine.edu.
The Genesis Lab has a Cricut Maker smart cutting machine and heat press available for student use. We provide black and white heat transfer vinyl and an assortment of sticker vinyl. For more information please contact us.
3D models can add to a final project or presentation. 3D models help to convey details that are difficult to understand in 2D. An array of 3D modelling software is available for free online, and the Genesis Lab staff are available to advise on the best modeling software for a project, teach the basics of these programs, and answer any technical questions.
