Example: I need financial statements for Boeing.

• Type boeing or the ticker symbol (BA) into the box and select The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA)
• On the left-hand side, go to "Financial Statement" and select specific financial statements such as "Income statements"
• The default format for financials. If you need the official format reported to the SEC, use the pull-down menu to select "As Presented" and click Go

Example: I need 10-K/10-Q reports for Boeing.

• Type boeing or the ticker symbol (BA) into the box and select The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA)
• On the left-hand side, click the link for SEC Filings
• Click the PDF icon for the 10-K report
• Management's Discussion will be an especially helpful section for identifying important metrics for your company
• Boeing lists metrics like R&D spending and backlogs of new orders Companies in other industries will list different metrics
• You might need the 10-Q for your company if the 10-K was issued a year ago, or if there have been recent significant developments

• On the left-hand side of the screen, go to the heading for Financials/Valuation and click the link for Ratios

Example: I need a stock report on Boeing.

• Type boeing or the ticker symbol (BA) into the box and select The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA)
• On the left-hand side of the screen, go to the section for Research and click Equity Research
• Click the PDF icon to access the report

Example: I want an industry report that is relevant to Boeing that contains industry wide ratios

• Type boeing or the ticker symbol (BA) into the box and select The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA)
• Go to the left-hand side of the screen and go to the section for "My Links" and then select Industry Surveys
• Go to the "Aerospace & Defense" heading and click the PDF icon
• Look at the section for "How to Analyze a company in this industry" to see metrics and statistics that are especially relevant to this industry,.

Example: I need the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and ratio data for Amgen.

• The income statement contains Earnings Per Share Data.
• Type in either Amgen or the ticker symbol (amgn) into the box
• Select Amgen
• Click Company Financials
• Use the pull-down menu to select the type of financial data (Balance Sheet, Income Statement or Cash Flow)
• Use the pull-down menu to select the number of years of financial data (3, 5, 7, 10 or 15)
• Select the Years you need with the pull-down menu
• Click Refresh
• Click the link for Ratios

Example: I want to compare Tesla Motors financials with General Motors and Ford to obtain industry averages

• Type tesla motors into the search box and click search
• Click the tab for Competitors at the top of the screen
• Remove any companies that you don't want in the list
• Click the link for "Click here to create a competitor report"
• Click the link for Company Comparison Report
• Select your companies by clicking >>
• Click the plus signs + for Financials and Ratios
• Click the types of financials and ratios that you need
• Click > to add the financials and ratios
• Click the box for Include Average
• Select the years you want
• Use the pull-down menu to select Microsoft Excel format
• Click Create Report

Example: I need a 10-K or annual report for Amgen.

• Type in either Amgen or the ticker symbol (amgn) into the box
• Select Amgen
• Click Reports
• Click the most recent 10-K or Annual Report

Example: I need 10-Q reports for Amgen.

• Click the link for Government Filings
• Click the circle for ticker symbol and type amgn into the box
• Scroll to the section for Filing Date Search and click the circle for Last 12 months
• Scroll to Filing Type and select 10-Q
• Click Search
• Use your browser's Edit/Find in Page feature to search for terms such as investing
• Please note: If you are researching a foreign company traded on a U.S. exchange you will search for the company’s 20-F instead of the 10-K.

• Limit the results to 2020 to the present

• Search for a publicly-traded airlines company like Southwest
• Click the link for "Financials" and then select "Operating metrics
