Welcome to the Watts Writers Workshop Book Collection Research Guide. This guide contains information and resources about the Watts Writers Workshop, a Black creative writing group started by Budd Schulberg in the South Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts in 1965 following the Watts Uprising. 

Pepperdine University Special Collections and University Archives collects, organizes, preserves, and makes available materials with enduring historic value that can be used to support research, teaching, administrative activities, and community involvement.
