This seminar is an overview of the social, political, economic and moral impact of sport on modern society. The focus is primarily sport in the United States over the past 100 years, but will survey its history and influence internationally. There will be extensive discussion of recent events that have brought either praise or condemnation to those involved in the sport community and the perceived impact on society.
