Poster Printing: A Guide

How to use the poster printing service at The Library Hub at TAC.

About our poster printer

Pepperdine Libraries owns an HP DesignJet Z5200 Photo Printer. The roll of glossy photo paper is 42'' wide and feeds from a roll on the back of the printer.

Who can use the printer? Current Pepperdine students, faculty, and staff.

How much does it cost? $5 per linear foot.

Can I print anything I want? Unfortunately, no. Only posters with an academic purpose are allowed. 

How should I format my file? The file must be a PDF or PowerPoint file. The file must be either 40'' x 30'' or 40'' x 56".

Where is the poster printer? ACE (2nd floor of the Payson Library)

Where do I start? PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE GUIDE! Then prepare your file according to the instructions below, save it to a portable USB drive, and make an appointment using the link at the bottom of this page. Finally, send your file to us using the Google Form linked to from the box at the bottom of this page.

I need help formatting my poster. Can someone at the library help? Absolutely! That's what the appointment is for.

Prepare your file before your appointment

Before you submit your file below, please take the following steps:

  1. View the file at 100% size to make sure it looks right. Small images printed at poster size are sure to look blurry or pixelated.
  2. Make sure the file you intend to print is in PDF or PowerPoint format.
  3. Plan on spending at least an hour on your print.
  4. Save the file to a USB Drive and bring it with you to your poster printing appointment.
  5. Schedule an appointment with Anna Speth ( to send your print job.
