Guide to Using Permanent Links

This guide will help show the location of permalinks through multiple library resources

Instructions

Example: You want to provide a link from Courses (powered by Sakai) from Jane M. Howell Boas Shamir's Academy of Management Review article "The Role of Followers in the Charismatic Leadership Process: Relationships and their Consequences."

  1. Go to http://library.pepperdine.edu
  2. Click on Databases and E-Journals
  3. Use the "By Subject" categories to filter the databases based on your preferred category.
  4. For this example, I am going to search for Business Source Complete and click on the corresponding link.
  5. When prompted enter your WaveNet credentials.
  6. On the Business Source Complete home page,
    1. In the first search bar type in "Role of followers in the charismatic leadership process". Leave the default search field alone.
    2. In the second search bar type in "Academy of Management Review". In the search field next to the search bar, select, "SO Publication Name".
  7. Click Search.
  8. Select the record of the article searched for. 
  9. On the right-hand side under the "Tools" tab and look for the "Permalink" link.
  10. Copy this permalink and paste it onto your document.
