Heidelberg Museums

- Heidelberg CastleHeidelberg Castle (in German: Heidelberger Schloss) is a famous ruin in Germany and landmark of Heidelberg. The castle ruins are among the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps. The castle has only been partially rebuilt since its demolition in the 17th and 18th centuries.
- Kurpfälzisches MuseumThe Kurpfälzisches Museum is a museum of art and archaeology in Heidelberg, Germany. It is located in the Palais Morass.
- Carl Bosch MuseumThe technical historical museum in Heidelberg offers insights on the life and discoveries of Heidelberg’s Nobel Prize winner Carl Bosch (1874-1940).
- Documentation and Cultural Centre of German Sinti and RomaThe Documentation and Cultural Centre of German Sinti and Roma was established in Heidelberg, Germany in the early 1990s. It is now home to the world's first permanent exhibition on the genocide perpetrated upon the Sinti and Roma by the Nazis
- President Friedrich Ebert MemorialThe President Friedrich Ebert Memorial remembers the life of Germany's first democratic head of state.
- Bonsai MuseumThe Bonsai Museum offers approximately 80- 100 exhibits, covering an area of 5,000 square meters under glass and an area of 15,000 square meters of public gardens and bamboo forests. The conifers and deciduous trees originate from Japan, China, USA and Europe. One of the main attractions is a 800 year old Californian juniper tree. Workshops and seminars about cultivation of the bonsais are held on some weekends. The museum is hard to find, as it is nestled at the end of Wieblingen, near Edingen.

Getting Around Heidelberg

- Railways - ScheduleHeidelberg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) is on the Rhine Valley Railway and is served by Intercity-Express, Euro City trains. This station is served by the RheinNeckar S-Bahn.
Heidelberg is connected to the network of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn, which opens up the entire Rhine-Neckar region, with lines connecting with the Palatinate, the Saarland and southern Hesse. - Heidelberg Mountain RailwayThe Heidelberger Bergbahn, or Heidelberg Mountain Railway, is a two section funicular railway in the city of Heidelberg, Germany. The first section runs from a lower station at Kornmarkt in Heidelberg's Altstadt, via an intermediate station at Heidelberg Castle, to an upper station at Molkenkur. Here passengers may change to the second section, which runs to the Königstuhl, a nearby mountain with good views over the city and the River Neckar.
