Getting Started

  • Shakespeare Survey  Icon
Access to a yearbook of Shakespeare studies, production and criticism. Each volume is devoted to a theme, or play, or group of plays; each also contains a section of reviews of that year's textual and critical studies, and of the year's major British performances.

Watch a Play

  • Shakespeare Plays (BBC)
Access to 37 BBC Shakespeare plays through Ambrose Digital Video. The plays are chaptered by acts and stream video allowing students and faculty to watch content online. Ambrose Video 2.0 is 100% closed captioned and streams are viewable directly through browser to all mobile devices, including iPads and iPods.

Listen to a Play

  • Literature Online (LION)
LION contains the complete Arkangel Shakespeare audio plays, fully dramatised unabridged recordings of all of Shakespeare’s 38 plays. Each play is recorded by noted actors, many of whom were trained at the Royal Shakespeare Company, such as Simon Russell Beale, Joseph Fiennes, David Tennant, Niamh Cusack and Sir John Gielgud and includes sound effects and music to bring the plays further to life.
