Course Description

TED videos have become increasingly prestigious for presenters and progressively popular among its students. What’s all the hype? This first-year seminar explores how technology, education, and instructional design affect the teaching and learning process. What counts as learning? What are the attributes of an effective teacher? How can we leverage technology in an optimal way to maximize learning? Students will learn the fundamentals of effective presentation skills and will be introduced to foundational educational theories through multimedia resources like TED videos, electronic databases, and tech tools. You will leave the course ready to become a TED speaker!
