What are the Early American Imprints, Series I?

Commonly referred to as the Evans Collection, this resource is comprised of a vast range of primary source publications from 1639-1800.

Viewing and Downloading Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans 1639-1800

You can access the Early American Imprints, Series I collection here. Once you have accessed the database, you can either search the collection using the search bar at the top of the page, or you can browse by genre, subjects, author, history of printing, place of publication, and language.

 

 

 

 

After locating an imprint, click the link to view it.


 

 

You are now taken to the Table of Contents for the desired imprint. On the left-hand side of the page, you can navigate from page to page within the imprint. To search the imprint use the search bar above the displayed imprint. To download a selection from the imprint, click download pages above the zoom bar.

 

         

 

     

The Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans, 1639-1800 collection allows users to download 75 pages at a time. To export the imprint to PDF, enter the range of pages you would like to save and click Download.

Note: Page numbers entered into the "range of sequential pages" may not correspond to the actual page number of the imprint. For example, in this case exporting page 4 to PDF will export the 4th page of the imprint, which may be a title page or front matter.
