Requesting ILL Items

How long will it take to receive books and articles?

Please allow sufficient time for the processing of requests.

  • Book chapters and articles from libraries worldwide: allow 1-2 business days

  • Print books may take 1-3 weeks to arrive.

  • If there is a book that you must have immediate access to, please e-mail libill@pepperdine.edu with the book information and we will try to assist you.

How do I request a print book, book chapters, or articles?

Go to the library home page (library.pepperdine.edu) and search the library catalog (white empty box at top of library website) to request books, book chapters, or articles.

When completing request forms please provide full bibliographic citation information, including book or journal title, article or chapter title, volume number, date, and pages needed.  Please provide ISBN or ISSN if available.

What if I want an ebook?

Generally we cannot borrow ebooks due to licensing restrictions.  Only print books can be borrowed on Interlibrary Loan.  If you need something quickly, try requesting a chapter from the ebook or journal article.

How many items can I request?

Please prioritize requests to 10 items per week.

How will I know my ILL item has arrived?

You will receive an email notifying you that your book, book chapter or article has arrived. For articles, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to access your article which is posted to your Tipasa Interlibrary Loan Account.

How long can I keep the item?
Book loans have different due dates, but are usually 2-4 weeks.  Journal Articles and Book Chapters are yours to keep.

How Can I Track My Request?

You can track your ILL request online in your Tipasa ILL account.
