The purpose of this InfoGuide is to provide students, faculty, staff, and the community with more in-depth information about how to conduct research in the University Archives.

The University Archives is the archival repository for Pepperdine University. Its primary purpose is to document the history of the University and to provide historical material for administrators, faculty, students, alumni, and other members of the University community, as well as scholars, authors, and other interested persons who seek to research the impact of the University's activities on the history of American social, cultural, and intellectual development.

The types of materials include records and documents created by the various schools, departments, boards, administrators, professors, and student organizations associated with Pepperdine University.

All types of formats are collected by the archives. Textual materials such as correspondence, meeting minutes, memoranda, reports, newspaper articles, books, and manuscripts as well as audio-visual materials and electronic records such as photographs, maps, drawings, audio recordings, film, CDs, and digital images can all be found within the university archives.
