Education Studies - EdD in Learning Technologies: Searching Dissertations Online

This guide will introduce education resources available to Pepperdine University students.

Use the "Dissertations and Theses" electronic database

On the Pepperdine Libraries website,

1. click on Electronic Databases.

2. click on either the letter "D" at the top of the page or "Dissertations" at the bottom of the page under the heading By Type.

3. Click on the database entitled Dissertations & Theses

4. Enter your username and password to log in. 

Search by Topic

To locate dissertation citations/abstracts by topic, perform a keyword search using relevant terms such as "community colleges and administration" or "distance education" or "transformational and leadership"

Search by Author

Write the author's name in the search box, for example "Donahoe and Thomas," select Author from the menu in the search box to the right.  If this is unsuccessful, eliminate the first name because it may be represented only by an initial.  

Search for Dissertations by Pepperdine students.

Type "pepperdine" in the first search box and select University/Institution from the field codes to the right.  press "search."  Click on "modify search" and type the last name of the author in the next search box and select "Author" from the field codes pull-down menu on the right.
