Institute of Education Sciences (IES)
The IES collects and analyzes statistics on the condition of education, conducts long-term longitudinal studies and surveys, supports international assessments, and carrys out the National Assessment of Educational Progress, also known as the Nation's Report Card.

National Assessment of Educational Progress NAEP
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas. Assessments are conducted periodically in mathematics, reading, science, writing, the arts, civics, economics, geography, and U.S. history.

California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System
California's statewide student assessment system was established on January 1, 2014, by California Education Code Section 60640
California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE)
Assistance for students and schools with the administration of the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE). Beginning with the Class of 2006, all public school students were required to pass the CAHSEE to earn a high school diploma; this requirement was suspended effective January 1, 2016.
Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR)
Administration of the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program. Test results are used for student and school accountability purposes. The STAR program ended on July 1, 2013 and was replaced by the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System.
